Access to services

Access to services and support for people with disabilities is considered a basic human right. Helping Hand currently delivers disability services to a small number of community clients and residents living in our residential care homes.
We are supporting individuals who cannot access disability services through NDIS, typically this is where there is a lack of services or providers such as in regional South Australia. By extending our services to crucial disability supports, we recognise and respect the inherent dignity and worth of every person, regardless of their abilities to live their best life.

How to access services

If you think you are eligible for the NDIS, you can apply by:

  • Contacting your Local Area Coordinator (LAC)
  • Contacting the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) on 1800 800 110

If you or your family member is eligible, a planning meeting with an NDIA planner or a LAC will occur to gather all your information and develop the best plan for you. When you have your NDIS plan, the LAC or NDIA planner will help you understand the different budgets and connect you with providers. It’s up to you to choose what services you need to pursue your goals, who provides them and how they are delivered.
