Helping Hand has partnered with Relationships Australia to create a course that will assist aged care professionals to engage in respectful and inclusive conversations with older adults who have a history of trauma.
Having respectful and inclusive conversations with older people from a background of trauma is designed to provide aged care workers with the knowledge and practical skills to navigate the crucial intake process, to prepare for sensitive topics as they arise, and provide continual support and care. This training program is free to access, and will take around one hour to complete.
Content Warning: The following training course focusses on people who have a lived experience of trauma. This content can be distressing for some people. If you believe that watching it will be distressing, then you may choose to forgo it. Alternatively, you can speak with your Manager or your organisation’s Employment Assistance Program.
