What is the home care package calculator?

The calculator is designed to give you an indication of the type of services you can receive and how often according to the level of your level of home care package. Everyone is unique with their own unique circumstances and individual requirements. The calculator has been designed with this in mind. Simply enter your care needs and how often you would like services and the calculator will show you what your home care package could look like.

How does the
calculator work?

    Home Care government approval

    Congratulations, you have received a letter to say you have either been approved (on the waitlist) or allocated a Home Care Package. Now it’s time to choose your service provider. If you haven’t got Government approval and are unsure about how to access home care services, please call us on 1300 444 663 and we can help you.

    Calculate your home care budget

    Once you have been approved you will be allocated funding to spend on services and support to help you remain at home. The funding is a monthly amount to spend on things like personal care, help with shopping, transport, gardening and cleaning, nursing and allied health. The budget, like a household budget, helps show you what services you can have, how often and what the costs will be to your monthly budget.

    Get your results and contact us

    By playing around with the calculator, you can put in different scenarios. For example, if you have a Level 2 Home Care Package, you may include things such as weekly shopping and cleaning plus gardening. If you have a level 4 Home Care Package, you may also have personal care and nursing or medication support. Once you have seen what support you can receive, please contact us and we can discuss the information in more detail. We are happy to visit you at home to chat further.

Management Fees

If you choose to bring your Home Care Package to Helping Hand there are two charges that you will see as part of your monthly Home Care Package Statement. All care management and package management is fully managed by Helping Hand

Care Management

This is a fixed daily charge which covers the cost of managing your services, including: regular care plan reviews, coordinating and scheduling services and reviewing services to make sure care is safe and appropriate.

Package Management

This is a fixed daily charge which covers the cost of providing a package of care and services, including: preparing budgets and monthly statements, compliance and quality assurance activities and managing package funds.
